The unspoken is just as important as the spoken in Norris’ video and performance practice. Works about identity and gender are often filled with language and signifiers. This minimal gesture speaks volumes to the countless and anonymous voices in society which will never be heard and nods to the inevitable restraints and obstacles of those who are privileged enough to have a voice to be contented with.
